“The Deva Method is the closest thing to getting cosmetic surgery for your voice.” – Performer Magazine

Jeannie Deva is an international celebrity Master vocal coach, vocalist, published author, clinician, recording studio vocal producer/studio vocal coach, trainer of voice teachers and founder of Jeannie Deva Voice Studios. Determined to offer contemporary singers an alternative to classical technique and maintain their originality, she began extensive research on the voice starting in the early 70's. From this she became known for her cutting edge, world class vocal technique: The Deva Method - A Non-Classical Approach for Singers™.

Airing in the US and Europe on E! Entertainment television, she is the vocal coach for the Reality show “House of Carters” staring Nick Carter (of The Backstreet Boys), Aaron Carter and their three sisters. With numerous other television appearances in Venezuela and the US she has been seen on such shows as “Idol Chat” – TV Guide Channel and the Hollywood based talk show: “Question Reality.” In addition to being selected as a founding member of the elite voice instructor council and endorsed by TC-Helicon, she is one of five vocal coaches officially endorsing Thayers® Products for Singers.

Thousands of singers world-wide have been trained by Jeannie and her expanding network of certified Deva Method teachers. Clients include Grammy Award Winner Aimee Mann, Grammy Nominee Harriet Schock, members of the J. Geils Band, Foghat, #1 Billboard Dance Chart Samantha James, Idol Finalist Mikalah Gordon (#11 of Season 4), Leads in Broadway’s Wicked and Grease, members of the touring cast of Fame, Dar Williams, Patty Griffin, Charlotte Jorgensen (Dancing with the Stars partner to John Hurley), singers for Christina Aguilera, Pink, Elton John, Celine Dion, Julio Iglesias and Stevie Wonder. Among the many thousands of singers who have her “Contemporary Vocalist” book and CDs are Patti LaBelle and Robert Plant.

“Jeannie Deva is a total asset to anyone serious about their vocals. They should get involved with her right away – the sooner the better. – David Frangioni, Audio Specialist, [Aerosmith, Bette Midler, Elton John, Julio Iglesias]

Record producers, labels and vocalists fly her cross-country and continent to assist the vocal recording of their albums. For this she has received endorsements from Engineers and Producers of the Rolling Stones, The Cars, Elton John and Aerosmith.

Born into a family of award winning artists, Jeannie’s professional singing career spans four decades and began in New York’s Greenwich Village with Janis Ian, opening for Richie Havens. As an international vocalist, Ms Deva has shared billing with performers such as Dave Van Ronk and David Pomerantz, sung with Gail Moran Corea, David Bromberg, percussionist Hossam Ramsey (Peter Gabriel, Robert Plant), Maxine Nightingale, multi Platinum artists David Campbell, Raven Kane and Blues Great Johnny Shines.

“Jeannie! What a great voice! Your notes jump off the tape and through the air.” – Chick Corea

With a vocal range of four octaves, Deva combines styles from R&B, Gospel, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical-Pop and Celtic, using her voice with lyrics and as an instrument without lyrics. Having extensive experience singing in recording studios and on stage, she has headlined concerts in the US, South America and Europe.

"Jeannie Deva’s great theatrical and emotional control has reaped remarkable results. Virtuoso.” – The Harvard Crimson

“A uniquely new, incredibly versatile voice.” – Robert Holmes, til Tuesday, Platinum Recording Artist

In 1975 Jeannie graduated Berklee College of Music earning a degree in Composition and Arranging. She assisted in founding Berklee’s voice department and later became the ten-year President of Berklee’s Alumni Association.

By 1978, Jeannie founded her first school of voice “The Voice Studio” in Boston, Massachusetts. It quickly became known as "the" place and method to study for many of the best singers and bands in the New England area. Now, independently owned and operated Jeannie Deva Voice Studios are located on both East and West Coasts of the US. Jeannie's private voice studio is in Los Angeles. Through the use of Internet phone, she also maintains clients and across the United States, South America, Europe and the Orient. This is due to the fact that she "hears with her ears" and knows exactly what a singer is doing just by the sounds of their voice.
