app review: The Voice: On Stage by StarMaker
What it Does:
The Bottom Line:
The interface is very straightforward and intuitive to use, and there is a tutorial to get you started. It also records a video of your performance that you can watch, save, and share.
There is a real time singing guide to let you know if you are singing out of tune or going for the wrong note. The App will award a score to your performance.
There are a reasonable number of free songs; however, to unlock some features and songs you will need to pay a subscription ( $1.99 USD per week - $4.99 USD per month).
The app has largely positive reviews on both iOS and Android.
If you are a fan of the TV show The Voice, then this app is likely to have extra appeal; however it can also be fun if you just simply like pop singing music. It is advisable to wear headphones when using the app to get the best audio performance as well as setting the right balance between your voice, the guide track and the backing track on the apps mixer. One nice bonus feature of the app are the monthly singing contests that you can enter to win prizes such as gear and backstage passes.
