Vocal Coach comments from Janine Le Clair
Wow Freya! You are doing a great job and as a Vocal Coach, I can tell you are really experimenting with your knowledge and skills, and I commend you for that! A couple suggestions for more areas in which to diversify – you may want to try singing some of the endings of sentences without vibrato or holding out the straight tone longer. And at the attack of the sentence, if you want a less classical sound, use a couple other choices of either more breath at the onset or a glottal beginning (not necessarily glottal fry, but that is always an option too). Near the end, when your voice really opened up, showed a great ability to alter your control, resonance and volume! Keep experimenting with the resonance placement in those high notes, if you’re looking for a more modern sound – really listen to the commercial singers of today and analyze their placement, and you’ll find even more choices within you! Great job!
