Julie Curly's bio

A graduate of Concordia University, Julie Curly is an award winning musician with passion for singing in both English and French (Confessions, 12 track album, 2014). Her music is inspired by storytelling and visual imagery. Her first English release Silk Stocking District tells the story of feminine power, and the strength of a woman who won’t sleep her way to the top. The vibrancy of New York comes through in the catchy song and the video was shot on location in the Big Apple. It is no surprise that New York plays a central role in Silk Stocking District, nor that Julie chose to write about a powerful woman with strong convictions. Julie entered the world in Montreal on the same day that John Lennon was murdered in NYC . She was born prematurely, and struggled in her early days. There is no doubt the connection to this fateful day, and the determination she needed to survive has influenced her music. She tell her story in Can you imagine? (The Killing of John Lennon). The music video of the song Can you imagine? won prizes such as an Akademia Music Award (California) for best live performance and finished number one with more than 4000 views on the Beat100 (Britain) Music Video Charts in 2015. Her fluency in both of Canada’s official languages is accompanied by the ability to sing, and play a number of instruments including guitar and mandolin. She frequently performs live at various venues in Montreal, with her amazing team of talented and experience musicians. Julie Curly is now part of the Rosner Management Services (Vancouver) and planning a canadian mini tour in the Spring (Québec, Ontario, New Brunswick).
