Vocal Coach comments from VoiceCouncil Team
You clearly have control over your voice, and you appear to have fun chopping and changing techniques. This is always a good thing to do when covering such a famous song. When you are singing low, it sounds like you are trying to make extra space in your pharynx to create resonance similar to Adele’s. However, you are doing this by supressing your tongue. This seems to be a popular trend with pop singers, but be mindful of how it can actually dampen your resonance and cloud your diction. Experiment singing low but with a higher tongue and more ‘twangier’ sound.
Why I chose Kirsten Collins as a Finalist
We’re choosing Kristen as the winner because of her versatile voice and creative approach to covering a song, and also her charismatic performance and slick home video.
