That’s not all: her “Jealous of the Angels” single has over a million hits and she’s won 5 Independent Country Music Association Awards in 2012, including overall winner.

As usual, we’ve only given Jenn a sentence or less to answer our questions:

Best advice someone ever gave you about performing?
The audience wants you to do a great job.

Worst singing advice you ever heard?
Being told to sing a song exactly like the recording.

What’s different about a vocalist vocation today compared to 20 years ago?
Technology; you can build a fan base on the internet and share more music, more often.

Most important piece of advice about singers using social media?
Be consistent and reply to every post; if people are taking the time to support you by commenting, they deserve to be acknowledged and to know that you care about them.

Pre-performance routine?
Singing success warm ups, positive thinking and prayer.

Weirdest thing to happen in a performance?
When I was in Kuwait performing for the troops, I went out into the crowd and sang from the audience – one of the soldiers turned around quickly because his friend told him I was in the audience and I took an elbow to the face and the mic smashed into my teeth mid-song. (Haha, I just kept singing.)

Bad thing to say to a venue manager?
“This room is way too big for us.”

Good thing to say to a venue manager?
“What an awesome venue, thanks for giving us the opportunity to play here!”

The perfect recording mic for you?
Whatever sounds the best. ☺

A secret good luck charm for travelling/performing?
10-15 minutes of “me time.”

What drains your batteries?
Being overwhelmed by planning and logistics.

What charges them?
Performing & writing.

Where most singers mess up with vocal health?
Not warming up consistently; you’ve got to keep your voice in shape.
